Career Path Team Works to Forge Long Term Driver Partnerships

One of the most daunting challenges facing the trucking industry is as storied as the industry itself. That challenge? Driver retention.

To forge long term partnerships, improve retention, and better educate drivers on the breadth of opportunities available, CRST recently launched a new Career Path Advisory team.  Comprised of 4 members, this team’s sole job is to educate existing drivers of the opportunities afforded with CRST and career path them into positions that best align with their career goals.

Drivers into Expedited can expect further details on the career path initiative during orientation.  Upon completion of orientation, drivers continue to receive regular communications via text before getting an initial phone call from an assigned career path advisor after 90 days.  Advisors will then work to career path drivers into positions that align with their long-term goals.

Optimal opportunities exist for those with:

  • A minimum 6 months driving experience with CRST;
  • Clean driving record and history of on-time deliveries;
  • Stable relationships with their co-driver and Driver Manager…and

Patience.  Positions and opportunities are constantly evolving.  The perfect match may not be available at the time an advisor speaks with a driver; new opportunities are constantly presenting themselves.  Those who commit to a long-term career with CRST and are willing to await the perfect match will realize the greatest rewards.

Whether drivers desire to become Lead Drivers, Owner/Operators, drive OTR, regionally, or locally, the Career Path Team is in place to help.  We look to partnering with our drivers to ensure them a long and prosperous career with CRST.
