After witnessing changes in the corporate world during the COVID-19 crisis, Matt decided to pivot and start his own agency – Simply Devine Logistics, drawing on his family’s legacy in the freight brokering business. Today, he’s a “pure broker” with no assets or additional employees – just a focus on building strong, trustworthy customer relationships… and never putting up with a “no.”

“Don’t get discouraged by tough customer conversations, and always prove why you’re the right choice for their freight,” says Matt. He also advises agents to never overpromise and to take the time to fully understand customer needs: “Don’t be afraid to say, ‘Send me an email with the details.’ Clarity ensures you can deliver.”

As Matt continues to grow his business, he’s focused on expanding his dry van freight opportunities.
