CRST is in search of a VP, Final Mile Business Development (BD), to drive long-term profitable growth. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, with accountability to (and partnership with) the President of Home Solutions, the VP of BD will be responsible for establishing strong partnerships internally and externally, executing formal business capture plans, staying abreast of competitor activity, achieving sales targets, and managing the overall sales pipeline. This is a new role that will require collaboration with the enterprise sales organization and the final mile home delivery leadership team.

 Responsibilities:

  • Execute sales strategies to ensure CRST meets revenue objectives by growing new and existing accounts.
  • Establish, build, and maintain long-term customer relationships to increase market penetration and mitigate the risk of churn while maintaining an executive-level relationship with major accounts.
  • Support final mile operating company executive leadership team in achieving annual business goals & objectives.
  • Prospecting with a “hunter” mentality leveraging existing industry knowledge and customer contacts.
  • Building a pipeline of targets by prospecting for business through a variety of activities, including in-person sales visits to uncover and develop new business.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators, ensuring attainment of sales objectives, and taking corrective action as necessary to meet those sales objectives.
  • Participate in the development of annual and long-term strategic sales plans.

  • Workflow Management – Sets clear, realistic, and time-bound objectives that align to business growth; breaks each objective into tasks and process steps that can be achieved within a realistic timeframe.
  • Industry Knowledge – Has in-depth final mile e-commerce and/or home delivery transportation experience, and stays informed about industry practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of related experience, preferably in the final mile home delivery industry at a national level
  • Proven experience in developing and growing a large portfolio >100M with sustained year-over-year growth.
  • Extensive travel based on customer and business needs.
