Position Summary:

As a CRST Inventory Analyst Intern you will be part of our Early Talent Program. Our Early Talent Program is CRST’s undergraduate summer internship program, where students are exposed to the transportation industry, engaged in real-world problem-solving, and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns. You will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with different business entities to accomplish company objectives and goals. The internship is an 8-10 week full-time position beginning in June of 2024 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Knowledge gained from this position will include a fundamental understanding of inventory management disciplines in a National Control Tower setting.  In addition, an understanding will be gained of several supply chain techniques deployed in Fortune 500 companies which may include Forward Deployment, Regional Warehousing, Chanel Managed Inventory, Synchronized Order Merge, Reverse Logistics and Product Postponement.  

What you can expect:

Participants will gain an understanding of the steps necessary in a forward flow supply chain process.  Supply Chain concepts the participant will be able to define at the conclusion of the program will include:

1)    Purpose, use and importance of an Advanced Shipment Notice.

2)    Fundamental importance of an inventory tracking number (ITN) or handling unit.

3)    Digital twin reconciliation with a physical twin.

4)    Four key locations in a warehouse including use of a storage grid.

5)    Why a pick ticket is pick to part versus pick to ITN versus wave pick.

6)    Carrier selection based upon physical characteristics.

Applicants must be an undergraduate student (enrolled in undergraduate courses), during the summer internship, to participate in the Early Talent Program. Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within CRST upon graduation with additional benefits.

·         US Citizen, 18+ years old, enrolled in school with a minimum of 3 college credits.

·         Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.

·         Detail oriented with ability to identify exceptions.

·         Ability to learn quickly and apply learning.

·         Excellent customer service skills.

·         Possess a professional and positive attitude.

·         Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills.

·         Professional phone etiquette.

·         Work well in a team environment.

·         Maintain and practice professional work ethics with customers and co-workers.
