Director – Operations

Division Summary:

Role Summary:  The Director – Operations is responsible for directing P&L responsibility and leading the department to accomplish company targets and goals for new and existing accounts. They will be responsible for the hiring and training of new managers for the onboarding of new dedicated accounts.

Direct management of a staff of 35+ operations personnel and 400 drivers in team operations to lead the department to accomplish company targets and goals.

Travel up to 40-50%. – This will include extensive travel in the first 90 days to Cedar Rapids, IA. As well as customer visits as needed.

Oversee training of new fleet managers, drivers, and onboarding of new dedicated customer accounts.

Direct P&L responsibility.

Ensure budget and cost management.

Build and develop a strong staff.

Define, document, and hold personnel accountable to account-specific SOPs.

Oversee the management and retention of 400 Dedicated drivers to include good driver morale, high level of service to customers, safety, and efficient and profitable utilization of equipment.

Oversee and ensure compliance in scheduling all maintenance and repairs of all company-owned equipment.

Ensure on-time service to customers.

Maintain accurate billing and payroll to account for specific contracted rates and driver wages.

Experience needed: 

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and five or more years of related transportation operations leadership experience.
