Desktop Technician II
Powered by the expertise of its Solutions Centers, CRST provides a broad array of transportation and logistics solutions including team expedited, flatbed, dedicated services, truckload capacity solutions, transportation management, high-value product white-glove services, and home delivery.
Over the next few years, CRST The Transportation Solution will be implementing significant enterprise-wide system and software upgrades. In support of this project, and of future needs, we are expanding our personnel and adding new positions within our Information Technology team. Position Summary:
The Desktop Technician role provides level two support to the Service Desk primarily focused on providing onsite and remote end-user support, including but not limited to desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, printers, and accessories. The Desktop Technician is responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware or software systems in adherence with relevant IT support practices, and procedures. The Desktop Technician supports users over the phone, in person, or via online chat to understand, troubleshoot, and resolve endpoint issues. Will resolve issues such as print queue management, network connectivity, login credentials, operating system navigation and control panel tools, and desktop application issues. Provides end-user device installation, troubleshooting, and repair including new PC imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains computer hardware by performing software installations and upgrades, documenting incidents/problems, and clearly documenting the issue, troubleshooting steps taken, and comments in an incident management system. Ensure successful daily user operations by responding to incidents, troubleshooting desktop issues, performing diagnostic testing, and resolving desktop inquiries
- Monitor system changes, understand the impact to end users, and perform hardware and/or software installations and updates to desktop and/or laptop computers
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT procedures by identifying opportunities for improvement, sharing best practices, and updating documentation as necessary
- Experience participating in small to medium size projects.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others to calmly handle critical situations with confidence.
- Working with and helping end users daily assisting them with any support or troubleshooting that may come up.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- 2-4 years of previous desktop experience
- Customer-focused and team-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communications skills, experience creating new team/customer documentation
- Critical thinker
- Experience with Active Directory including an understanding of rights and permissions
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows Operating systems and MS Office 365
- Knowledge of the desktop imaging process and application installation and configuration
- Basic network and Wi-Fi understanding
- Experience with printer installation and configuration
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, able to adapt to frequent changes, and work a flexible schedule. Work with diverse groups and individuals to set goals, establish priorities, and solve complex problems.
- Microsoft Desktop Technician and A+ certification or relative experience
- Well-developed, mature interpersonal skills with diverse personalities
The pay range for this position is $26.97 – $36.49. A final offer amount is dependent on factors including prior relevant experience, knowledge, and location. Typically, selected candidates are hired at a rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
