Database Administrator

Over the next few years, CRST The Transportation Solution will be implementing significant enterprise wide system and software upgrades. In support of this project, and of future needs, we are expanding our personnel and adding new positions within our Information Technology team, located in Cedar Rapids, IA or Atlanta, GA. We are seeking new IT skills and resources in the areas of help desk technicians, project managers, business process analyst, application administration and software development. Role Summary: The Database Administrator is responsible for support, maintenance, monitoring of all CRST’s databases across the company. 

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the health and stability of databases across the CRST environment.
  • Determine most effective way to increase performance and efficiency of databases.
  • Required Skills and Attributes:
    • Support internal SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and Power Bi report development.
    • Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility of data.
    • Support multiple Always On environments.
  • Designs and maintains access and security administration.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains backup and recovery strategies on Database Management Systems.
  • Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data.
  • Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring. RedGate experience is a plus.
  • Designs, implements, maintains Disaster Recovery (DR) methodologies, and creates documentation.
  • Gathers business requirements and designs, implements multiple projects along with the production support.
  • Creates standard operational procedures and templates.
  • Performs research and provides plans to remediate complex business problems.
  • Assists the development teams to improve database design and procedures on SQL best practices etc.
  • Effective oral and written communicator with skills to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Requires in-depth ability to lead, educate, and train others.
  • Team Player

Role Requirements:

  • Highschool Diploma Required
  • 2-3 years SQL experience required 
  • Postgres and DB2 experience preferred
