Position Summary
CRST The Transportation Solution, Inc. is one of the nation’s largest privately held transportation companies. Powered by the expertise of our Solutions centers, we provide a broad array of transportation and logistics solutions. CRST Specialized Solutions Division is in Fort Wayne, IN and looking for summer interns for 2024. CRST’s Accounting / Finance summer internship program is a great opportunity for first-hand experience in your Accounting / Finance field of interest. You will work on one or more projects that create value for our key internal and external stakeholders. The program would include exposure to leadership, professional development opportunities, support through a mentor relationship, volunteering, and (virtual) social events with interns in other divisions. Practical application of accounting classroom concepts.
What it takes:

Sophomore – Junior-level college student with a major in Accounting or Finance
-
Minimum 3.0 or above GPA
-
Relevant work experience / internships / related activities (tutor, business fraternity, etc.)

Strong technical acumen and desire for a career in Accounting / Finance
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Able to develop alternative solutions and work well in individual and group problem solving situations

Self-starter with high personal motivation and desire to take initiative and ownership
What You Can Expect:
Accounting:
-
Exposure to accounting concepts, i.e. Revenue recognition, matching principle, accrual principle
-
Exposure to accounts receivable and payable transactional accounting
-
Support month end closing process
-
Support financial statement preparation.
Finance:
-
Basic understanding of account / P&L structure for large corporation
-
General exposure to Spreadsheet server
-
Support and exposure to McLeod ERP system
-
Participate in status meetings and stand-ups
Qualifications

Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, good oral, written and presentation skills

Must have reliable transportation and work on-site during internship
