Agent Spotlight: Meet Robbie – A True Veteran of the Trucking Industry

In this edition of our Agent Spotlight, we’re thrilled to introduce Robbie, a dedicated flatbed agent who joined the CRST family in 2019. Robbie’s story is rooted deeply in the trucking industry, having been raised alongside his siblings by their father, a trucking pioneer who started in the 1950s. This rich heritage has shaped Robbie's passion and commitment to the industry.

A Busy and Focused Operation 

Robbie’s agency is a hive of activity, with the team constantly on the move. He prides himself on always moving freight and continually seeking new opportunities. “I’m always looking for more opportunities and certainly am not afraid of a challenge,” Robbie says, reflecting his proactive and fearless approach to business. 

A Strong Team and Fleet 

Robbie’s operation may be small, but it’s mighty. The team consists of three office employees and three shop employees, managing a fleet of six trucks. This compact but efficient team works seamlessly to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service. 

Advice for New Agents 

For those new to the industry, Robbie has some valuable advice: “Don’t try to do it all on your own. If you’re just getting started as an agent, one of the best things you can do is to sign on with a company like CRST. They know the business will have your back and make it feasible to navigate the complexities of the industry.” His words are a testament to the importance of strong support and mentorship in building a successful career. 

A Growing Vision 

Robbie’s ambition doesn’t stop at flatbed freight. He’s eager to expand into dry van freight, a move he believes will drive significant growth for his business. This forward-thinking attitude showcases his desire to continually evolve and adapt in the ever-changing trucking landscape. 

Unique and Resilient 

What sets Robbie’s business apart is its combination of size and strength. The operation is small but growing, with an active truck shop on-site. Interestingly, Robbie himself used to be a mechanic, adding a unique layer of expertise to his agency.
