‘Go-to’ guy Moe nominated for IMTA Professional Maintenance Technician Award

When his colleagues talk about CRST technician Aaron Moe, the compliments flow. “Aaron is the go-to guy when someone needs help because of his knowledge and desire to help people be successful,” says Dennis Cook, Moe’s manager at the maintenance facility in Cedar Rapids.
Aaron Moe nominated for 2024 Iowa Motor Truck Association Professional Maintenance Technician Award for his dedication, problem-solving skills, and leadership at CRST's Cedar Rapids maintenance facility.

“Anytime we have a truck in the shop that stumps another technician, he’ll jump in to help even though he is fully tasked.”

“Anytime we have a truck in the shop that stumps another technician, he’ll jump in to help even though he is fully tasked,” Cook says. “Aaron combines a ‘lunch pail mentality’ while being gracious and professional with our drivers. He’ll sacrifice on any day to ensure our drivers can get rolling safely.”

For those qualities, Moe has been nominated for the 2024 Iowa Motor Truck Association (IMTA) Professional Maintenance Technician Award, which celebrates technicians’ critical role in meeting industry safety standards and goals.

With 25 years of experience as a technician – 22 of them with CRST – Moe describes himself as a lifelong learner and problem solver who never strays too far from the front-line work. He attributes these traits to his long and successful career.

“I’m successful when I’m able to go home safely to my family, deliver on my commitments to others and assist our drivers in delivering on their commitments to their families and the company.”

“I’m successful when I’m able to go home safely to my family, deliver on my commitments to others and assist our drivers in delivering on their commitments to their families and the company. It’s one of the sweetest satisfactions in my daily work,” said Moe.

Cook says Moe’s willingness to go above and beyond every day for the other technicians and drivers has raised the bar for technicians at CRST.

“We all like to say that Aaron just has a gift that can’t be learned.”

He is a selfless leader, and also a professional and caring technician,” Cook says. “We all like to say that Aaron just has a gift that can’t be learned.”

For his part, Moe says his time as a technician is rewarding because of the bigger contribution it makes to the world around us.

“Being a professional maintenance technician is not for the faint of heart, but at the end of the day, my grease-covered hands remind me that the efforts are worth the rewards. Trucking keeps America moving.”
